Abstract

Acute liver failure is a life-threatening disease that occurs most often in patients without preexisting liver disease. Clinical presentation usually includes hepatic dysfunction, abnormal liver biochemical values, and coagulopathy. The objective of this report is to present the case of a 58-year-old patient who came to our hospital unit with data of decompensated congestive heart failure and acute liver failure, with biochemical evidence of liver failure that evolves with severe rhabdomyolysis. It highlights the fact of referring intake of a supplement called “cell regenerator”.

Keywords: Acute liver failure. Congestive heart failure. Rhabdomyolysis.
