Abstract

The diagnostic approach to acute abdominal pain in pediatric age is complex given the multipathologies that are involved as secondary difficulties during physical examination in this age. We present the case of a 13-year-old male patient who came for evaluation at our hospital due to abdominal pain with initial analgesic, antispasmodic and antibiotic management that evolved with appendicitis and complicated phase IV appendectomy, subsequent readmission with persistent abdominal pain with report of appendix pathology with mycobacteria.
