Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune pathology that causes an increase in morbidity and mortality due to complications associated with this entity such as cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, etc. Comprehensive management in this group of patients is a challenge for the anesthesiologist’s practice due to the complications of SLE and the use of anticoagulants, steroids and other drugs that affect the cardiovascular system. The objective of this case is to present anesthetic management with ultrasound-guided spinal block and popliteal sciatic block in a patient with long-standing SLE associated with several comorbidities who underwent pelvic limb arthrodesis surgery.
