Thyroid nodule: evaluation and management with iodine

Introduction: Thyroid nodule is a focal increase in the volume and consistency of the thyroid, usually without symptoms. Objective: Presentation of a clinical case of thyroid nodules, with unusual evolution to treatment. Clinical case: A 69-year-old female consulted for presenting foreign body sensation in the anterior part of the neck. A 2 cm nodule TIRADS 5 was found in the right thyroid lobe and a nodule smaller than 1 cm TIRADS 2 was found in the left lobe. Upon refusal to perform FNA, treatment with food grade iodine is initiated. Conclusion: Personalization in the evaluation and management of pathologies is crucial, especially in the absence of clinical trials.
